A content audit you can finish one page at a time
Decide what to keep, update or retire before moving your website.

Start with a useful list
List your current page addresses, titles and languages. Include reports, news, event pages and downloadable files. For each item, name someone who can confirm that it is still accurate. A simple shared list is enough.
Give every page a job
Write down who needs the page and what they should be able to do after reading it. Check dates, contact details, links and instructions. Mark the item to keep, update, combine or retire; keep the reason beside the decision.
Keep both languages in view
Pair English and French versions before making changes. Record missing translations and differences that matter to readers. Give the person reviewing the translation the same source information as the person updating the original.
Plan the move
- Choose the pages visitors need most and review those first.
- Record old and new addresses so visitors can still reach the right page.
- Assign each update and translation to a person.
- Review the replacement page and its links before publishing it.
- Keep the inventory for your next review instead of starting from scratch.
